Cali Girl
Former Miss California,
my Cali girl
She’s beautiful inside and out
Her magnetic personality:
bright sunny smiles so attracts me
Cali girl takes me riding
when the surf is high
I’ve fallen into the water
of her warm Pacifico charms
She’s so gorgeous from the outside going in
Politely rejected Stanford,
said she didn’t feel the need to be elite
Moves to her own samba rhythm waves of the beach,
my Cali intellectual gypsy
She’s a down-to-earth woman,
no Rodeo Drive mannequin snob
My Cali girl don’t run with the Beverly Hills crowd
She’s so winsome on the inside moving out
Gave her beauty crown to the runner-up,
said just winning it all, that was enough
Then drove her 82' Mustang into anonymity,
parked her beautiful self
in a lounge chair next to me
Our virgin conversation
gave her the vibe to unwind,
and let her hair down
Just be herself ... with no
paparazzi expectations hanging around
She’s truly beautiful inside and out
So sweet of her to open the door,
allowing me into her world
Now I’m her city Motown guy,
and she’s my country Cali girl
Dedicated to my beloved friend, Kee
