Free denizen of the sky, The songbird is now in cage, Flapping its tired wings in vain. Yet the caged bird sings!

Wonderful! Love the word “denizen” It is tired from flapping but still emits its sweet song. Congratulations!

Yet the caged bird sings, reminds me of a poem, and i resonate with that on a deep level, a very metaphorical write this is. A gilded cage is still a cage they say, for a reason, theres no better gift in this world than to be free, and not caged, sometimes our circumstances too leave us feeling caged. Arent we all fighting for freedom some in silence too, but still some learn to sing through it all. I felt this one! Thank you for writing! Congratulations on winning. Well deserved

??1 Corinthians? ?13:1?-?3? ?NIV?? [1] If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. [2] If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. [3] If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. Love it, made me think of this : )

He is trying to get his friends to come free him, but in vain. Sad isn't it. Thanks for sharing this one with us and for dropping by my page. Sara

HiValsa! I’ve owned a mynah back when it was legal, as wll as a pair of diamond doves. I think we humans alays tend to ofcaged birds feeling tortured by/in their cages. Hmmm. Personification? Are dogs tortured by their fences or most of us by our walls. Now,,,lack of attention is a real pain! For most life,bid-grass-human. Lots to provoke thought here! Fine work!
