Notes About The Poem

Another old diddy I thought to enter in the Invisible contest. This an actual study in human nature I observed and deployed. More doors were opened on days I wore skirts. I have actually had a "gentleman" step on my toes to let "ladies" go first onto an elevator for which I had been the first to arrive and press the button. My buttons were pressed!

C Is For Chivalry

So enraged by "gentlemen" displaying courtesy to ladies
while ardently blind stepping me for weeks I schemingly
wore my C-cups strapped into my most potent padded
push-up busting through the seams of a too tight red
trimmed baby pink fuchsia glitter Barbie TM T-shirt
I am girl we roared and doors opened.

How funny, but I'm sure it's true. So many men are like this, but I know there's still a few true gentlemen out there (okay, maybe they're few and far between but they're out there...lol). I enjoyed your poem, Maureen. Thanks for sharing and thanks for stopping by my page tonight...hugs, Rhonda

There are! I distinctly remember another similar scenario, I was 1st waiting for elevater, four "suits" joined me, the senior gentleman with a smile to me, put his arm up to block junior from boarding the elevator ahead of me; (jr sank with embarassment) we got on on the 4th, I got off on the clouds!

Funny, I open the door for everyone, but some women complain saying they don't need a man to open it for them, I wrote a poem chivalry is not dead maybe you would like it, page 2 on my page.

I get it...they look at you and only open the door if you feel the need to tell them my eyes are up here. This was great Maureen. Here, let me get that door for you. :)

Maureen, there is nothing wrong with being a gentleman, in fact I think we need to keep those antiquated values. It's called RESPECT! Sorry if you take offense.

I think you misread my in intent, literally stepping on me showed me I wasn't lady enough to be deserving of respect. Classism. I always open doors for people, regardless of gender or dress.
