Notes About The Poem

By the Book

By The Book
(a monoku series)

someone once called me a walking dictionary they must think i'm thick

i have been told that it has been said i use the passive voice a lot

critics panned my book, "dearth" it's okay, it means very little to me

...but thanks for your kind review of my book, "plethora" it means a lot

...and for buying my new book, "omniscient" it means more than you know

...i'm so glad you liked my epic poem "earth" that means the world to me

Oh boy, does this mean your monoku series is back? I hope so, they are always good for a smile, I think the 'passive' voice one is my favorite, probably because I am that way too (maybe, once in a while, not a lot, I don't know) Hope you are enjoying your Sunday~

Sorry, i don't think Monday monokus will be coming back, but thank you for remembering them fondly. Loved your comment, I'm afraid the passive voice line was somewhat autobiographical. My first draft was "I guess I suppose I apparently use passive writing habits". Thanks for relating to that.
