Butti the Tortoise

Butti the tortoise from the zoo has flown the coop

Your brother Tutti misses you, you little poop

On you there is a large bounty

If found in El Paso County

Hope you don't end up as a bowl of turtle soup

This is based on a true story. Butti came up missing at the Colorado Springs
Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, 27 Mar 2011. He and his brother, Tutti, are Indian
Star tortoises. Suspicions are that some miscreant pocketed him and strolled
away since he was about the size of a grapefruit and weighed about a
pound. Coincidentally, a river otter named Kitchi, escaped from the same zoo
a few months ago and has never been found. If interested you can read the
saga of Kitchi in my poem of the same name. Will keep you posted!!

Poor Tutti, I hope the 'miscreant' will give vitamins. I had to look up this breed, if a turtle might be called beautiful, this one would be at the top of the line. We have painted and snapping turtles here, but tuddi looks more exotique! Cute names! Wishing you, yours, and Tuddi, the best!:) Mikki

Oh, I hope they find Tutti alive and well, Robert. Interesting that they never found Kitchi -- I remember that poem. Perhaps the same culprit is responsible for both kidnappings. Long live Tutti! Funny last line in your limerick, Bob. Much enjoyed. Love, Carolyn

Perhaps Tutti is having a rendevouz with the missing cobra from the zoo in NYC. !!! I'd rather have turtle soup than cobra soup anyday!!! :) But hope they are both found safe and sound!!!

Yeah, the poor critter was probably pocketed and taken away. Poor little thing. I'm sure he won't end up as soup though. Cute limerick!
