Butterfly Land

A gathering of winged beings soaring down Creating heavenly mists in swirls among the clouds Destined to hover just below A pinnacle of strangled hope Exhaling their exotic breaths of Himalayan glow Asphyxiating toxins found clinging to a soul Basking in tranquility they yeild to passion's will Drifting quietly to land upon a window sill Where endurance rests peacefully, unencumbered

Written in a way to provoke greater longing for and appreciation of butterflies and the many metaphors of life they stimulate and evoke.

they give us such beauty to write about and you captured the beauty in this one, food for thought me and my daughter were cleaning the kitchen one day and opened the doors and opened all the windows and in our back yard were just so many butterflies by some flowers and no where else just our yard it was so beautiful we had to just sit and watch, this poem reminded me of that day such bliss :), enjoyed this

Beautiful write. This reminds me of the butterfly's I see every year on the (Greg's Mist?) that grows in one my flower gardens. They swirl and flutter about and make life so wonderful. Thanks for the memory and the poem. ~Kilmer~ PS - I wish I could spell "Asphyxiating"! :)

If I am not mistaken they attract Admiral butterfly's and Monarchs. The Admiral's look like Monarchs but are much smaller. cheers

Kilmer, thank you for sharing such charming comments. I googled those Greggs Mist flowers and they would be lovely in a garden with butterflies :).
