Butterflies Don'T Care
This morning the butterflies left
my kitchen curtains
upon a morning breeze
they fluttered away
through the open window
laughing as they flew
I followed with a net
but off they scampered
over the neighbour's hedge
and into the sunshine
Returning to my kitchen,
I could hear their titterings,
their mockings
at their new found freedom
but I was left alone
thinking how much
those curtains had cost me
at Woolworth's and that I
probably could never find
another pair like them..
but butterflies don't care..
