Butterflies and Marshes Mellow

When I look into your eyes Butterflies I see What a wonderful surprise Butterflies are free Like the dawning day’s gestation Warms the willing wistful breast Rising waves of expectation Race to meet my fawning best In the marsh a mellow feeling Magnifies the morning yeast Virgin lips are finally sealing Summer’s supple sumptuous feast Now the butterflies resplendent Multiply in dreams of light Promises to keep are pregnant With each dizzy new delight In the mood a marsh bird lingers Expectations running high Casually your tiny fingers Wipe the tears of years gone by. Submitted to poetry contest, "Butter Flies and Marshes Mellow Poetry Contest." Date judged: July 16, 2020

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.

Thank you very much, Constance. I certainly believed my poem was better than an NA. If the free versers can get away with this "deep meaning" stuff, why can't a rhymer with at least one foot in coherency.
