But Love

Infatuation is fickle
Part of the thrill
The butterflies
Fluttering in the stomach
Giving your best and always
Showing your prettiest
Surface emotions
That easily blow away
With the winds of challenge
But Love.....
       Oh Love.
The deep grit of Love
The wash of substance
Over your soul
That gives and gives from
An eternal bounty
That knows only
The best and prettiest
Despite the senses
Planted firm in adversity
Smiling with a dirty face
