But Let Us Speak---Of Love

but let us speak of.....love
soft wrinkled hands
still reaching for each other
eyes that cannot contain
a lingering lustful longing
satiated by a presence
a scent, a voice
muffled b a teacup's echo

let us speak...of love
out loud
voices counting coup
on memory's quest
eyes gazing into eyes
calling forth a smile
a sexy twinkle
from a distant star

let us speak....of love
in silence
shared thoughts and dreams
hard days and happiness
simmered over time
seasoned with experience
written on the faces
of old lovers
