But I Did
Relentless hearts sleeping estranged for the night,
Running from the truth, and shedding tears along the way.
From the very beginning I was there, and like a circus you put on an act.
Through space and performance the blank empty stage stood, and I was there alone.
Im forever yours, faithfully will I be is what left your lips,
just to be regretted down the road.
I wonder what made you say that?
Now it seems like we are two strangers,
not speaking, not gazing, not holding, no recognition of the past memoirs.
I fell for you, opened up to you,
I let everyone who tried to slip in test you.
You fell for the bait and hooked to the line, yet still I stayed.
When I first cast a glimpse at your face, I saw a dream of wonder,
Now that dream that made me strong,
Has turned into a nightmare that tears at my heartstrings.
What is left to say about the realization I discovered?
You were not ready for a relationship ever after a year.
Feelings were tossed in and minds were boggled.
You flenched at the mere thought of commitment.
I cant seem to get over exactly how strong I was,
To bring myself to question you,
To let you go.....but I did.
