But For

Night time is hardest
I'm all by myself
Alone with my thoughts
Of you, no one else
I turn off the lights
Then sit down in my chair
I whisper your name
But still you're not there

I may fall asleep
But sometimes I don't
I may send a message
But sometimes I won't
I want you so badly
But what can be done?
I love you so madly
For me you're the one

For some, sleep is sweet
But for me that's not so
There's pain on the journey
I don't want to go
Some dreams that I've had
I woke up from and cried
They never were real
It felt like I'd died
