But First Be Thankful

By Dawne Zacharias

When there is pain and a need
we bow our heads and seek
Our Father in Heaven
What is needful?
A willing heart.

Be thankful for all of your blessings
List them one by one
Then the miracle this brings

A change of heart

You are ready to hear Him
He is a living God
And is aware of you,

He calls you his child and knows you by name
You speak of your pain and
ask for relief

You listen and receive his word,
He gives you more than you could
ever have known

Tears run down your face for you know
He is real and you know He loves you.

The clouds disappear, the sun is out!
