Burnt Stars and Peace

Shuffle your feet on this moonlit night
Stars on your lips and your heart held tight
Silence is pierced by your nocturnal grasp
Crickets in harmony play

Solace is burning in the soles of your feet
Footprint's indention's on your steps on the street
All your discoveries blow through the air
The moon has just learned your name

Whistling lightly to shoulder your shadow
Night becomes comfort to soothe and elate you
All winsome words float on star-shine and dust
and settle on ears of a stranger

One with the echo, one with the earth
which turns even slower to relish your mirth
Arousing a yearning to bury resentment
and slip into dreams filled with burnt stars and peace...
