Burnt Away Like Ah Waste
Burnt away like ah waste
Hunger is beyond desire
To be feed is a necessity
I was walking on the street
In west Africa Nigeria
On a hot afternoon
All of a sudden
I saw a group
Of people
In a long circle
Burnt away like ah waste
In the middle of this people i perceive
Flames of smokes
The smell was so dirty
It smells unfamiliar to my nose
Like I went closer
I heard them screaming
Kill him kill him
ole(thief),ole(thief)
On that point I got closer
to the show
Oh it was horrible
Burnt away like ah waste
In the middle
Of this crowd of people
Was a young boy
With a burning car tire
Around his neck
Burning in a hurry
I felt so cold
As tears roll down
My eyes
Like I shake from the act
With a heavy shock
Burnt away like ah waste
I asked the person
Close to me
What is the crime of this
Young man
He replied he is a thief
He stole a pack of rice
I replied just a pack of rice
And he is killed this way
He replied stealing
is against our culture
and he deserve to die this way
I could not stand
to watch any more
But to walk away
With an heavy heart
Full of worries and
Question's
Burnt away like ah waste
What happen to the heart of men
Is so sad how
This people take life's
Into their hands
And devour just for an
excuse of a culture
And here you see
Our government
care less about us
Burnt away like ah waste
Afterwards I discover that the young
Man was hungry
And out of frustration he meet his
Misery
Like he was
burnt away like ah waste.
