Burning Out

Burning fast and high, but not for long
Flickering away without a final song
Burns so so bright, but its gone so fast
Disappearing is a second, only embers last
The embers linger, a reminder of what was
But in the end they're gone, no matter what one does

Welcome to Poetry Soup, Mermaid Girl. "Burns so bright, but its gone so fast," so true! Well penned, my friend.

This resonated with me as heartbreak. I really enjoyed your writing. "Burns so so bright, but its gone so fast" this line especially. :)
