Burning

gentle light
on this dark
tree veined path
bumpy gnarly
roots slithering
everywhere
beautiful
tangled maze
to lay me down
into sleepless
stupor
lifts me up
weighs me down
pours me out
on cold morning
silence
would I dream
beside your warmth
nuzzled in your scent
and
crush you
like this pillow
or would I
just lie here
listening to the day
unfold
lips touching
tender skin
breath rising
...falling
on smoothe
delicious curves
eyes blinking
away
dusty memories
to settle
present
full
and true
into one
feeling
in this ocean
labyrinth
upon which I
rise
...sink
and stretch
night into day
burning
