Buntspecht / Spotted Woodpecker

Über mir in der Eiche Hämmert ein Buntspecht sein Lied Auf Suche nach Insekten Sein Gefieder leuchtet in der Sonne Hier ist die Natur noch in Ordnung ----------------------------------------------- High in the oak tree A Spotted Woodpecker hammers his song Looking for insects His feathers glare in the sun Here nature is still in order

Hi Gert, I wonder how German TV got the details of the oil spill correct while we were misled. And, yes, I'm sure the miscalculations on the amount of oil were purposely presented that way. BP gas is often a bit cheaper than some other brands here in Florida, but I bet most environmentally conscious drivers will be avoiding their gas stations. I surely will. Thanks for letting me know about this! Love, Carolyn

Yes, indeed. If only humanity could be in better order for everyone to live peacefully, how nice it would be! Great Tanka again, Gert. Thanks for sharing. Alles Gute, Caroline.

So close to English -- I'm always amazed. I'm reading your poems in German first and sometimes I get the gist before reading the English. Glad to hear that "nature is still in order" where you live, Gert. The Gulf oil spill is approaching the Florida Panhandle. It won't affect the woodpeckers, but many forms of sea life are endangered. Love the melody in this poem! Love, Carolyn
