Built To Last
Sunlight splashes the concrete
I'm like a Lion King in an urban jungle
I've got my headphones on
Blasting Caravan Palace
Because I don't have a care in the world
My heart litters the sidewalk
Little fractures from failed romances
So I pick them up
And piece them back together
I'm not going to whine
I'm not going to cry
I'm going to look to the sky
And smile
People try to break me down
I shrug off their efforts
And life tries to knock me down
But I'll get up every time
I'm not a Tom Hiddleston
Because I'm a Christopher Goss
And my soft skin has turned hard
My voice has gotten deep
Because I'll walk miles in these jeans
Just to show the world
I can do it
My worth is defined by me
And it's high time I fell in love with myself
Because at the end of the day
I'm the only one I can count on
Friendships are fleeting
And romance is defeating
But I'm ready to show
I'm strong
And my soul is built to last
