Building tension
Feeling incomplete, heart yearns to expand
and so transmits this desire to the mind,
which ego driven, fails to understand,
that peace is found if cravings are declined,
so in the world of transience, makes its stand,
stifling soul’s vibrancy, loving and kind.
Identified with form, tension builds up,
from which there’s no reprieve, till thoughts shut up.
As goalposts shift, we see rainbows don’t last,
for joy is fleeting and piercing is pain,
so despondent, flag flying at half mast,
our optimism dwindles under life’s strain
but even though destiny’s die seems cast,
in silence, souls love and light we regain.
As formless awareness, humming love’s tune,
from the vagaries of life, we’re immune.
