Ferreting around, in dumpsters of dreams
In the back alleys of my imagination
Through swill, liaisons, and cheap rendezvous
And words misspoke in conversations
Rummaging for one morsel, an old tattered remnant
In a disregarded or discarded memory
For that one piece of the puzzle, a maggot's repast
To feed a starving, rapacious fantasy

I find a face, in a crowd, dark eyes and dark hair
It was only a passing glance
There's a memory, lost, of a soft tender touch
From a young girl at my first high school dance
Then mixing and matching, of shapes and sizes
I've always been partial to curves
A voice, a whisper, an exciting laugh
From a stupor that's still just a blur

In this jigsaw fantasy, some light conversation
At a restaurant by candlelight
Some soft music, slow dancing, funny improvisation
Then a romantic walk in moonlight
She's intelligent, engaging, laughs at my jokes
I'm forever lost in her eyes
While we dream with the stars, with her kiss I'm awoke
In the dark , I sit and I sigh

Hi Daniel, you build a fantasy that can always become a reality. Who knows what life has in store for us. As usual, you do take us through an emotional dance through your mind. I always enjoy these journeys. Your romance is alive and vibrant while mine is old and stail. Keep the light shining Daniel with wonderful writes like this. Looks as if we all love it Daniel. This is a definite seven and a fave. Keep shining my friend, keep flying high....Mike.

Very lovely poem, Daniel, I love that last line.. I never thought of my past moment's as dumpster, but you think about it they are moment's that I would love to trash and never resurface and others that I would love to recapture. Hugs Eve

Well, Mrs Eve. We have to put those tossed dreams somewhere, and all of those partly forgotten memories, no use in littering! Thank you so much for friendly visits. You are so sweet and kind. I appreciate your support.

Beautiful picture to go along with your exquisite poem. You always have been partial to curves? For me it's the grin. It must light up their entire face. It must reveal contentment with the present and hold a promise of that which is yet to be.

A grin is a curve! Is it not? It is a face crescent. I do see the reasoning in your opinion. Thank you for dropping in and making me smile today. I appreciate your friendliness.

Danny Turner does not take scraps from a dumpster. Your romantic walk in the moonlight, soft music playing,...sigh. If her kiss woke you, it must have been a very nice dream.
