Btvs: Shadows of Four

Four individuals come into view,
Ready and able to do what they do.
Each one is small, and each one is proud.
In the hours of night, they wait for the fight.

Ah, who but the slayer could stand at such ease?
With strength and with courage she faces the breeze.
A lead into battle, as quick as you please.
She is the hand, she’ll make you believe.

The witch, so friendly with red hair divine.
Her wit and her charm; she is simply sublime.
Bright-eyed and able she follows the lead.
She is the spirit, and magic’s her deed.

The loyal, the commoner, construction supreme.
He’s more than he looks, he’s more than a dream.
Laughing through heartache, and smiling through pain.
The heart keeps on beating, there’s so much to gain.

And what’s to be said about the eldest of these?
Wonderful, wise, so full of surprise.
A watcher, librarian; mentor, and friend.
The smartest and kindest, stalwart ’til the end.
Always keeping the forces together,
The mind’s eyes stay open through all sorts of weather.

The sun rises slowly, to welcome the fight.
Our four able heroes awake in the light.
The sun shines down on each handsome face,
Their shadows fade into each other’s place.
A new being is made from the shadows of four,
Able and ready to win the last war.
