Bts and Ats

B.T.S Before Turning Seventeen Thought that being a teenager was the life On top of the freakin world Nothin can stop me The seat of the throne Social hierarchy is the one and only rule All of us collecting friends like Infinity Stones Is the mainstream here The height of beauty and adolescence Funneling energy into the void Nothing brighter than me Everything in neon glow and glitter showers All the things I see and touch All shiny and new Never tarnishing Laughter and joy Feeling everything at its maximum The booming bass beatbox Vibrating through my eardrums Thinking I figured it all out I know everything what it means to live and love Me thinking I was at the top of my confidence I don’t need to grow anymore When people told me High school doesn’t last forever I turned my head the other way My lover was the one I believed Or so I thought A.T.S After Turning Seventeen It was just a memory of an illusion A high of youth Arrogance and Imagined immortality The brisk early hours at 5am When things start looking real And not as magical as a few hours earlier Twilight’s gone Dawn has broken Sober from the high of youth But I remember how complex how coarse It was to be young and a teen How reliant I was on The love I received And I kept wanting more Wanting to feel safe and secure As I was insecure in myself Now my Heart is still young But my mind grew wiser Or vice versa Works both ways You get my point Each time the earth rotates around the sun I turn another year younger Yet another year cleverer At least I could say I have lived those years with no regrets But the regrets I have They push me into A new direction of change Wanting to be better Time is always leaving us While it leaves us, the best we can do is make it worthwhile Our time living here is Fleetingly short Love is too But it is also Everlastingly long In our short yet long little infinity Laughing is Still fun and full of joy The lines of age on our faces Aren’t a sin But a symbol of living Our bravery in Waking up every single day And the sunsets are still beautiful Just as much as the sunsets are still beautiful Of all of the things that changed That never changed A.T.S
