'Brotherly Love'

Good grief, one soldier told another
Our foe’s no different than our brothers

Oh, yes he is, the other retorted
The cause he fights for is distorted

I beg to differ, countered soldier the first
Our side’s lack of morals is the worst

Them's fightin' words, the other soldier replied
Said the first, I'll take you down, I’ve got my pride...

When it was over, they both lay dead
Their foe, their brother, victorious instead

Beautifully written, Gershon! I’m currently watching “Fauda,” a drama about the Middle East and what is most interesting to me is how similar the enemies are to each other. So sad to hate each other like that!
