Broken Vow
Together we once were,
living as a pair.
Our hands intertwined with faith,
as dreams combined by fate.
Oaths of everlasting love were spoken,
as each faithful promises were taken.
With a ring on our hands I pray,
"may our chains of lifetime vows stay."
But the word so cruel like a wakened beast,
devoured us whole like a delicious feast.
With every vanity we crumbled beneath,
and our vow in vain found underneath.
