Broken Toys

Broken Toys Linger in peoples lives Memories so dark So left behind Discarded by the unknown time They limp un-mended Labeled and still described For a momentary fascination With broken toys Broken toys belong to Innocent girls and boys Pander to a whim for someone else To enjoy Driven to insanity By the fumbling hands That try to fit the puzzle Linking all the pieces The lonely girls and lonely boys Wait in corners Amidst their broken pieces Of the broken toys Left to linger in the place Where they didn’t want to The mesmerism of the crack Shatters back attention They buried them and left them there Wondering if they would ever awake A nightmare for these children Of broken toys
