Broken Toys

Broken Toys

Linger in peoples lives
Memories so dark
So left behind
Discarded by the unknown time

They limp un-mended
Labeled and still described
For a momentary fascination
With broken toys

Broken toys belong to
Innocent girls and boys
Pander to a whim for someone else
To enjoy

Driven to insanity
By the fumbling hands
That try to fit the puzzle
Linking all the pieces

The lonely girls and lonely boys
Wait in corners
Amidst their broken pieces
Of the broken toys

Left to linger in the place
Where they didn’t want to
The mesmerism of the crack
Shatters back attention

They buried them and left them there
Wondering if they would ever awake
A nightmare for these children
Of broken toys

Untitled

Her lonely heart weeps with anticipation
As she talks to the spirit of the lover she once knew
Confused but jubilant she’s going with peace
Content but disheartened, we wait in tears
Don’t cry for me, she says, for I won’t be far
Wails of loneliness heard all through the night
Cries for her late lover they are
Missing him so, she’s more than willing to go
It’s time to grasp hold of dear memories for life
And to let her lonely soul, go in the night
