Broken Steps

BROKEN STEPS they had some good times days not too hot nor too cold cold preferable unless denied the warm room that place under broken steps once while cleaning up insulation was dumped ‘neath those broken steps and Lord knows how many cats had blessedly found a home

I used to live in a very, very old house. Well over 100 years old. It had a large covered wooden porch, and under was an opening, where stray cats found a haven, many a kitten was born under that porch. Many a cat found shelter. Your poem brought back some wonderful memories of that time. Just excellent. Constance

Cats are so resourceful, Daver, and I suspect some of them may be living under your porch steps right now. You do have a soft spot for these precious felines, don't you? You can groan all you want about being a codger, but your soft spot is showing in this wonderful poem. Love, Carolyn
