Broken Steps

BROKEN STEPS 

they had some good times
days not too hot nor too cold
cold preferable
unless denied the warm room
that place under broken steps

once while cleaning up
insulation was dumped
‘neath those broken steps
and Lord knows how many cats
had blessedly found a home

Constance La France Date: 5/29/2010 7:15:00 AM I used to live in a very, very old house. Well over 100 years old. It had a large covered wooden porch, and under was an opening, where stray cats found a haven, many a kitten was born under that porch. Many a cat found shelter.
