This is a true story of hurt but having a forgiving heart

BROKEN-HEARTED, BUT FORGIVING I have two grandchildren whom I've not seen In a period nearing three years I look at their pictures every day And it reduces me to tears Their mother and father flatly refuse Any contact with them at all Since the untimely death of my wife Not even a card or a call No explanation has been given I simply do not know why Life hardly seems worth living And every day, I cry But the God that I serve has stated Forgive them seventy times seven So this I've done as He has said And we'll be reunited in Heaven 14 October 2017 1:55 a.m.

Very well done my friend...I can relate to your pain...family loss is #1 when it comes to pain, that we must deal with every day...I've lost my wife...not to death but other circumstances...so I can only imagine grandchildren...but somehow the grief can be the same...maybe at different levels...but always find in your heart to forgive...god bless...^WW^

Thanks, Warrior! I lost my first wife through divorce by her choice of someone else. That relationship blew up in her face just as I predicted. My second wife, the grandmother of the children in the poem, I lost to death. There is pain in both death and the separation from my grandchildren but God will see me through.

Congratulations on your win. The longer I live , the less I understand how people can harbor a grudge, I know one day your grandchildren will know the truth and I hope they will be more forgiving of their parents than their parents were of you. God Bless

Jerry, thanks for your support on my win. Moreover, thank you for your understanding of the pain I have learned to live with. I agree that the children will hopefully forgive their parents for severing the ties and disallowing me the pleasure of seeing them. However, they cannot destroy the bond of love that existed between me and the children. Stay in touch my friend!

Thanks, Greg! A difficult piece to write because of the pain it has caused me. But God's mercy always prevails. And, yes, I will keep pumpin' out poems 'til my passing or His Second Coming. I appreciate your support.

Thank you, Alexis. I appreciate your kindness. Only God can heal the hurt I feel, but He and I both can offer forgiveness. I have, and He will, if the parents of my grandchildren will only ask Him. Otherwise, they will be held accountable for their actions.

Thanks, Arturo. God is good and I will rise above being shunned by the parents of these two wonderful children who both love me.
