Broken Glass
Bobby ran home smiling with pride bubbling inside ~
His teacher had just given him the blue ribbon award for
Outstanding student of the entire week; deeply determined....
He opened the front door bursting in making his way towards the den
Tossing his books atop the table as joyfully he went, beaming amid
A rare glimpse of hope; but suddenly, the sound of broken glass?!
Stopping him within his tracks; wincing and lowering his innocent eyes
His humble heart pounding inside, knowing, as he slowly turned
To look back ~
Words rising in his mind and echoing their truth; these images of life....
By and through, the reality of sorrowed hands; like stone, made cold to grasp

....In this, a breaking world of broken glass!?
