Broken Beer Bottles

Broken Beer Bottles

Damn those broken beer bottles,
like those damn broken hearts
that cry out to be loved;
Boy do they make a mess.
Making a mess with the mind
and messing up the liver,
bleeding from the inside out,
longing for help,
but wanting one more drink,
ah what the hell!
Give me another bottle to add to the pile.

What a poem. I had to read this. At one time I used to drink, but not much. I quit many years ago. My brothers do drink quiet bit. Sometimes it does not help. It only makes things worst. Take care and God be with you... Lucilla
