Notes About The Poem

Broiled Cod

Broiled white flakey fish served on a platter
Relish placed in a small bowl on the side
Optimum pleasant surroundings matter
Inviting if you, my love, still abide
Loving was what mattered now denied
Every trip to this grill so much flatter
Downright sad I'd say, death, my spirit tried
Cod on the menu without thick batter
Optimal addition to menu applied
D elight would come once more to me inside

Yes, I definitely have restaurants that remind me of someone special - nicely expressed. I wrote a poem called Ode to Chao Krung that's secretly about that.

David, I will have to check out your work. I remember the last time we ate out there and my husband did not eat very much, but I did not know that it was because he was having trouble swallowing but I thought it was that he was having dental work done which was causing the problem. Sara K

It's interesting how you related it to death. I don't like this kind of dish, but you did really well writing about it in such an original way . Congrats and well done.

Andrea, it was a new place we started going to before my husband passed and I like broiled cod (lemon pepper) with a baked potato but they don't have that on their menu, we went back this weekend that is my family and me. We went Christmas as well and of course, I plus all the family are missing him. Thanks for dropping by with congrats. Sara K

Great time of year for tomato soup. Your review of my work is encouraging. I don't think I have fixed Cod at home, but I do pan grill Ah Ha Tuna, or Mahi Mahi sometimes. Sara K
