Brody

Brody

I bought two new books for you today my sweet boy.
The Wizard of Oz and the Jungle book should bring joy.

I'm very proud of how wonderfully you read.
As an English scholar, I know you will succeed.

I see your picture in the morning when I rise
As I observe your dark hair and sparkling brown eyes

The thought and sight of you really makes me smile,
Although, when I saw you last, it's been quite a while.

I miss watching you laugh and play riding your bike.
I love photos sent of you and Dad on that hike.

You love to have fun in the sun I know, I know...
You race and ride that ATV just like a pro.

Your mommy sends me sweet pictures which makes my day
I would love to find a letter from you today.

You look so dashing in your boy scout livery
With badges bravely sought and won with chivalry.

Your Kung fu lessons have trained mind and body well
I'm proud of you my dear grandson and I can tell

The kind of compassionate soul you will one day be.
I pray to God you will be blessed eternally.

Sometimes tears fall because you live so far away
I long for your kisses and hugs most everyday.

Please don't ever forget how much your Gram loves you.
You have my heart, and with your smile I can't feel blue.

This is from the heart, isn't it? Brody being in California? I teared up. In a good way, my emotions swelled as I swear I heard your voice reading each line with your own emotion adding to mine. Oh, my. Love in every line as only a grandmother can. Missing in every line as only a loving heart can. You got me, girl. Surely Brody has a copy of this? Love, CayCay (the silhouette shows your hair cut, for the most part!)

I copied this poem and glued it to one of the books inside cover. He may appreciate it one day when he is much older and I am no longer here to tell him how much he is loved CayCay. Thank you for leaving me a bit of your sincere heart. I adored your sweet comment my friend. Love, Connie : ) xxoo

Ahh, it s such a lovely and cute poem about the love of a grandmother, my father s mother died when I was 4 but I still really miss her, she taught me to speak urdu( my national language) and was used to give me a candy and a coin everyday, some of the best memories of my life, my mother s mother is still alive and really love me, always hug me, kiss me and alwats telling me that how much she love me, the grandparents love truly is a special one, good luck

As a Grandma, I know how hard it is for our sweet ones to live too far to see them often. In a flash they are growing up, and all of those special moments are gone too quickly. This dear poem melts my heart. Connie. But I'm sure your little Brody knows how much love is sent to him every day from his Grandma.

I have seven grandchildren, far away, and one so distant I’ll only know in death. They grow up, and I can only guess at all they find novel and unique. Thus your poem resonated deeply with me and makes my moments less hollow than they almost always are.

Hello Connie ... How are you - although your poem Brody is personal, it is meaningful to so many of us in the same position - Lindsay

I am doing well Lindsay. I am having my right knee replacement surgery in two days. Nice of you to ask. I am closer to my little granddaughter because she lives near me but I also adore my grandson but he is an ocean away. Thank you. Connie ; )

This is a very lovely poem dedicated to your grandson, Connie. It's a pity that his family live far away, and although you have a granddaughter that makes up for it, it would be lovely to see them both on a regular basis. ~ Congratulations on p.o.t.d. Regards // paul
