Bring Them Home

On January of 2007, the people gathered.
Bring them home - that is what their signs 
read, as the people went out to protest.

bring them home was the people's cry. All
over the Country, it was being heard. Too
many soidiers have already died. Our 
soddiers are fighting a useless WAR.

The prices in gas didn't get better. But our 
soldiers blood was everywhere scattered.
Young men and women went out there to 
fight. they loved their Country - there is no 
doubt.

It has been years and what have we gained,
just thousands of soldiers that have lost their
lives. it's like they were just sent to meet
their deaths.

Bring them home - that's what I say. Our
children weren't born to die in vain. The Oil
Barons should't  have no say...

Louis Rams May 26, 2012 at 10:37 AM every one of us vets that have come home you see, has created a part of american history. but, just like in NAM it was an undeclared war, where no one wins except the weapon manufacturers and oil companies. yet why would we have our soldiers die for history ? this is something that i can not see, and you show it in your poetry. thank you so much for this poem. Debbie Guzzi May 26, 2012 at 7:27 AM so true and generation after generation gets conned into giving up their lifes so one 'dictator' after another can maintain and grow their power and wealth, each person convinced they are helping the down trodden to rise BAH! what a world we would have if children stopped listening to nationaliztic baloney and became CITIZEN's of the WORLD and NOT give allegiance to power mongers!
