Bring On Fall
Bring on September. Sunshine still lingers.
Down from its azure sky,
Sun runs long fingers
over gold fields while sun’s lovers sigh
knowing the affair is ended. Summertime, bye bye.
Bring on October. How cool is its breeze.
Poets sing praises most beautifully
for the bright hues bedazzling trees.
Pumpkins on porches lend festivity
as kids trick-or-treating scurry with glee.
Bring on November. Days now grow cold.
Older now, Autumn is wearing a shawl.
However, before the winter takes hold,
families gather to give thanks for all -
for all God has blessed us with; bring on fall.
