What I'd like to give you,
Is an ounce of my perfume,
To remind you of the way it smells,
When lilacs are in bloom.
What I'd like to get from you,
Is some of your perfume,
To remind me of the way it felt,
To walk into your room.
Your room always smelled like Summer,
And it smelled so nice,
Mixed with Daddy's manly scent,
Of sandalwood and spice.
Whene're I smell the homey scents,
Of baking bread and coffee,
It always brings me home again,
To memories so bonny,
Of raking leaves and doing chores,
And sharing work and play,
And how it felt around the hearth,
At rest at end of day.
