Bright Blue Jay
Late Fall days are dark, grey, cold and dismal
Until a flash of bright blue wings adds some warmth
Fall winds blow wet leaves with colors now muted
Grounds are covered in damp camouflaged blankets
Sunlight is scarce and hiding behind smoky clouds
Mornings feel crisp, frosty tips envelope late blooms
Dawn is quiet, scavengers hibernate and sleep
Until a loud squawk echoes from the barren treetops
A flash of moving bright wings of cobalt blue and white
A Blue jay lands, proudly dancing and strutting about
Blue Jay
Sing your song
Brighten my day
Spread your wings, proudly fly
Blue craze
