Breaking Ties

We’re sitting across from each other
thoughts racing, anticipating
the anguish of breaking ties
clinging to futile hope
maybe try again
one last kiss,
a last hug
part ways
tears

Hmm, interesting write, well done. Not sure I understand, why "anticipating the anguish..."? Quite thought provoking, Wilma! Thanks for sharing and thank you for your kind comments on my latest. Love, Caroline.

Thank you for your comments on Disposable Wisdom, Wilma. It was a true story and I still get choked up thinking about the way Annie lived and died in loneliness. Bless you for your kind comments. Love, Carolyn

There is so much pain when we cling to "futile hope." Been through this, Wilma, and remember the heartache while reading your beautifully penned poem. Love, Carolyn

We always hope something will change with that last kiss or last hug, but sometimes relationships have just run their course. Great nonet, Wilma! I'm realy enjoying your work.
