Quaker’s best is steel-cut oats. Raisins drift like boats on a melted butter moat where rich almonds float in brown sugar coats. Dive in and gloat!

With a sprinkle of cinnamon! Pretty much one of my three standard breakfasts, minus the butter. Maple syrup instead of brown sugar, though. Congratulations!

thanks, Roy, I appreciate the comment. Steel-cut takes a little longer but is well worth the texture. Have a good morning!

Reason , you are very lucky I have you in top three. I am not a cereal eater, particularly of oatmeal, but your poem is SO well crafted, I could not deny it a spot. You make even ME want to eat this yummy breakfast!! Congratulations.

thanks, Andrea, I'll take any placement you'll offer; poetry like porridge is highly personal. Like that last stress on ME, don't run yourself down so, my husband gags when I fix oats for breakfast just means he has to fix his own. Have a great Sunday.
