Break the Mirror

How much do I know of how reality plays? Can I touch the sun always on a fine day Can I see inside you perhaps using X-rays Can I skip a heartbeat if she comes my way Can I fix the future it’s best to make hay Can I reflect myself damn mirror broke today Can I overcome fear so far so good anyway Can I know what’s true of course by going astray Can I justify reason much easier than dismay Can I show you God maybe it’s best to pray Can I define reality only what my mind betrays Can I be immortal, in death, time goes away Can I rise up again in endless guises, I’d say! Heya Kim and thank you for your visits today, I think I’ve learned so much by going astray, life lessons indeed some of us learn the hard way, if we survive to tell the truth, cheers David

A stream of consciousness, summed up in a blusterous unwavering confidence! Cigarette anyone?

Exactly Christopher, we must write for ourselves even in contests, the seeker knows what I’m like, he has his points of inquiry, which I nearly always fail to address, but we mutually respect each other, cheers David

If it's not from your very own personal individual point of view David Then surely it's merely platitudes for the peanut gallery

Thank you Mr Flaherty, I’m not sure if this is what the seeker had in mind for this contest, but I always write from my own pov, don’t want to betray how I discern reality lol, cheers David

Your poetry is filled to the brim with deep and meaningful thoughts, David. All of the inquiries that you posed are valid; nevertheless, as feeble beings, we are unable to comprehend what is beyond the sphere of life nor what occurs after death.

Hello Lasaad, thank you for commenting on this one, I haven’t been around much this week, I’m trying to catch up on things, this contest prompt caught my eye, I totally agree as mere mortals we cannot know what’s beyond life, however some people have faith in an afterlife, I do also, but in a totally different abstract manner, hope you’re keeping well, cheers David

It's all superstition. Ignore it and buy a new one.

Lol I agree! But what about the metaphorical mirrors, I’ve broken so many here today, I’ll claim poetic amnesty since I don’t have the license, cheers David
