Break Open the Windows and Run
Shining frost on the kitchen counters
Butterflies clicking their wings on the windows
Sun free floating undisturbed on my hands
while the water of suds fill the drain
Aluminum space as the mind unclutters
Fish swimming at me from all directions
Twisted hair knotted in a haphazard bun
while the candle burns sweet balsam air
Humming along with the great Paul Weller
Birds circle my house in rhythms feather
Perhaps there's more passion in this little finger
bit by cut glass and quick bandaged
Shining eyes from a private moment
Shadows of yesterday slip with their torment
It's funny how simple things make you most stable
Break open the windows and run...
