Brave Man

Oh yes...indeed, oh, yes....
He thought he was a pioneer;
Brave as a new Season's pledge,
Stronger than the rest...
Faster and smarter than human desire
When blood runs hot.

Oh yes, indeed...
He took the chance before the others
Who would not cross the boundary
Into loving me;
Certainly not without a dare -
A double down stare
For his fortune at the Finish Line
To give him his reasons for courage.

He even wore his Talisman
Of bone and magic stones...

A man can never be certain
When he tangles with a witch.
