Bottom Feeder of My Heart

Resentment,
rising into a spore,
of keep-forever
bitterness,

bars peace of
yesterday, today
tomorrow.

This is so powerful and human. You are brave to admit, it is something we all have felt, and fight against, but it can be very hard, I think. ps.......my deep thanks for your comment on my Tissue Box poem......It is nice to know that someone understands. I'm grateful for that. thank you.

I had my share of resentment but didn't do much good; best to keep in mind you last stanza. Nice! Lizzie

Ah yes, resentment turning into bitterness...I know these two evils well...Love how you compare this emotion to a spore, spreading throughout like a disease, and what a title!...Also I deeply appreciate your comment and instant understanding of my 'Born, 1980' poem...having gone through the same experience yourself, I am not surprised...Have a good day my friend - Tim
