Born of Insanity
Little girl who isn't human;
a mannequin holds out her
broken heart.
Begging it to be taken from her
and his words wash over and over her,
a haunting voice in her head,
the music!
It won't go away,
a haunted melody
a feeling,
drowning her pulling her
so deep below
into
nothing.
The feeling could break her,
cracks the mask she is trying to put on.
She must make this feeling go away,
must make the voice there be silent
the melody haunts.
So she
laughs, laughs, laughs
because she wants to cry
laughs so hard it shakes
her.
It is a broken laugh
cold
endless
dark
laughter holding little joy
just an essence
of insanity
until someone new takes hold,
it is a different face in her mirror,
only they are the same person,
with two different names.
And the laughter was left echoing off the walls.
