Born In Africa
Bouncing baby boy she bore
the family wept with joy
but hunger made nice cakes
and placed them in manger
war flew to the nearby hill
and raised red flag in welcome
killer things came laughing
dancing, breaking their waists
bad governance sang hymns
and composed advance eulogy
prejudice sat on his throne
and passed biased verdict
racism raised colored lips
and shouted vulgar words
Born in Africa, birth day in Africa
is joy full of nullity and uncertainty
wrapped up carefully, consciously
in happiness, hope and resilience
