I do not know whether I am mourning, the fate of so many civilizations, languages, and ways of seeing the world, that you knew best, Or whether I mourn that you are gone, I can not even ask you, How a line drawn on a map, Can cause so much destruction, You left me to ponder the horror alone, Leaving me at the edge of a world, I’ll never understand, While the sights I wanted to see, The knowledge I craved, Was all within you
