In all fairness there was a time Men were smarter than women Better read For the simple reason We didn’t place the books on our head Now I do confess, this statement will hurt me true As a book comes flying across my face turned blue I better rethink my conclusions of life Or me lady will make my time here pure strife Wisdom you see is learned in real life!

Clever and witty all in one! As an aside...it's terrible that in this day and age, in certain countries, females are still being denied the right for education! // paul

LOL I know, but those who know me know I am kidding, There are still may places in the world, where women truly have a difficult time to get an education, and this for me is very sad. I refer you another poem I wrote! http://www.poetrysoup.com/poem/i_am_malala_511234

Men were allowed to get an education encouraged to, but not so with the ladies, However; I know what you were getting at in your poem. It was amusing reading about what your wife would do. A fun write Arthur!

I Have no wife Connie, just seemed like the best way to say the message here, and yes the hidden meaning in my poem was what you just explained!!!!! I write a lot of historical poems of women in history for that very reason! This is one http://www.poetrysoup.com/poem/bianca_of_venice_458833
