Book Store Fantasy
book store fantasy
summer of 2010
i’m sipping coffee
outside it’s 90
air conditioning feels great
what a lazy day
inspiration nil
my writing pad remains blank
but then she walks in
five-six raven hair
look to see if she’s alone
yes no male appears
she gives me the eye
her face shames helen of troy
my heart is racing
should i make a play
or will she wound my ego?
i’m vulnerable
my girl just dumped me
vulnerable but desperate
I decide to play
no hesitation
she arches those black eyebrows
says “your place or mine?”
wouldn’t you know it
my cell-phone suddenly rings
reality dings
