Bonfire

As the bonfire illuminates
to resonate the happiness on my friends’ faces,
on this starry starry night in fall,
along with my own feeling of happiness,
I look up to the skies, trying to find my reflection.
And somewhere beyond the skyline,
I am wishing to see my reflection among the stars.
And as the smoke from the bonfire goes up
and disappears on thin air, without a trace,
and as I see the leaves fall
and consumed by fire to become smoke and ash,
I am thinking that life is the same.
We are just like leaves and woods in a bonfire
given our chance to illuminate,
and while we have that chance,
we should give our best inspiring light.
And whether we will just disappear
on thin air without a trace
like smoke and ashes from a bonfire,
or go higher and become one among the stars
is a choice that we can make.

*By the way, the rest of this is fiction. There is no fall in my country, just spring and summer. But one can have bonfire with friends of course. Just wanted to share the idea.*
