Notes About The Poem

Bobo the Bear

There is a baby cub Bobo who has lost his family and sow
His mother bear is gone, unable to teach him what to know
Alone he sits or stands in the grass or grabs onto a tree
Always watching from where he stops, with curiosity
He wanders around on the hill, restless without a playmate
He listens when I talk to him; our meeting can feel like fate
Each day he checks in a few times, sometimes runs, then comes back
Other times gone a while, until next day in trees; I see his color black
Today, I was only feet from him, after he had been near my chair
This bear cub has shown he just wants connection, someone to care
He has made this his partial home as he comes and as he goes
I watch him sit, stand, run and climb; now it is me he knows

Poor little bear. People wonder why bears are on our porches and close to our homes. I think we have crowded them in with mini malls and our new homes. To me it is sad, they need their forests back. Important write Heidi

It is true that is happening. I agree it is sad, they are losing the forests where they live. Thank you for caring. I hope you have a nice night :)

Hi Joe. BoBo was gone for a week after some neighbors came up out back visiting their second home. Selling blueberries and had shot a gun. However, they weren't here yesterday and he returned. I was very worried. Thank you :)

A touching write about baby bear Bobo, who is trying to survive on his own as he makes connections along the way

Thank you Joseph. He is missed for now. He hasn't been seen since last Thursday. There has been quite a bit of activity with people coming up to their second home out back that could have disturbed him too. I hope you have a nice day :)

Aw Poor little baby bear. I do like bears although they can be quite dangerous. Maybe you should call fish and wildlife to come help the little guy out. Otherwise without a mom to teach him he may not survive the winter. Good write my friend. Love the pics. God Bless, JB

Thank you Judy. Yes, the plan is for someone to try calling about it if it keeps up like this. Although at the moment, he hasn't been seen since last Thursday. Blessings :)

I got a poor grade from a professor once, because I told him animals were capable of deep feeling, even love, and not just instinctive creatures of the wild. Lovely, sensitive read. Thank you.

Wow! That is too bad the professor sees it that way. Thank you for your kind comment Joe :)

Amazing how a genuine bond develops when animals read friendly, caring signals. Sounds like you are not at all afraid of him. I see him around you vying affection--because of the way you narrated the story that brought forth the scenes.

Hi Paula. Yes it is sad. We have to see how it goes and whether a rescue place has to take him in. He has been going to neighbors too. Thank you for your visit and comment :)
